Solar panel bracket, 15–45° tilt · Type I or full frame (LS-B)

Overview

The LS-B is the solar panel bracket of our split solar street light kits: I-type version (one panel) or full frame, hot-dip galvanised steel, adjustable tilt from 15 to 45°. It ships with the luminaires under an HS heading separate from that of poles (classification confirmed by our customs broker): the 25 % safeguard duty on imported poles (HS 7308.90.10) is on the pole, not on a solar street light panel bracket. Single or double arms and mounting clamps are likewise delivered with the luminaire, depending on the model; dimensions on request.

Why an adjustable tilt? Because in Morocco December is what sizes a solar street light, and a south-facing tilted panel receives far more there than a flat one: in Casablanca 4.93 kWh/m²/day at 32° against 2.99 horizontal (+65 %), in Tangier 4.32 against 2.58 (+67 %), in Marrakech 5.73 against 3.46 (+66 %), in Agadir 5.87 against 3.62 at 31° (+62 %), in Laayoune 5.71 against 3.97 at 27° (+44 %) — PVGIS-SARAH2 2005-2020, JRC. Morocco's optimal tilt, 27–32°, sits in the middle of the LS-B's 15–45° range; the slope also helps rain wash off chergui dust.

The bracket is chosen with the kit: panel model and count (I-type for one panel, full frame for a large panel or a double panel such as the 2 × 150 Wp of the LS-S120), top diameter of the Moroccan-made LS-P6 pole or of the existing pole, stainless fasteners on request for the coast. What tilt for a solar street light panel in Morocco?

A solar street light is sized on its worst month, December, when the sun is low and the night long. Horizontal, a panel receives in December 2.58 kWh/m²/day in Tangier, 2.85 in Rabat, 2.97 in Fez, 2.99 in Casablanca, 3.46 in Marrakech, 3.62 in Agadir, 3.81 in Ouarzazate and 3.97 in Laayoune. Tilted at the optimal angle computed by PVGIS (32° almost everywhere, 31° in Agadir, 27° in Laayoune) and facing due south, the same panel receives 4.32 in Tangier, 4.65 in Rabat, 4.98 in Fez, 4.93 in Casablanca, 5.73 in Marrakech, 5.87 in Agadir, 6.37 in Ouarzazate and 5.71 in Laayoune: +44 % to +68 % energy in the month it is scarcest, with comparable summer yield (PVGIS-SARAH2 2005-2020, JRC). That is the case for the split kit against the flat-panel all-in-one, and the reason for the LS-B's 15–45° range: every site gets its own angle. Two installation rules: due south, with no shadow from a tree or building between 10 am and 2 pm; and a height that keeps the lower edge of the panel at least 3 m above finished ground (NM 06.8.001 §5.2).

Arms, clamps and brackets: what ships with the luminaire

Every LALOGO luminaire leaves with its mounting, under its own HS heading. All-in-one solar street light: Ø 60 mm spigot on an adjustable tilt bracket, for 5–8 m poles; it fits a straight pole or an existing arm. Split kit: single or double arm depending on the model, pole-top clamp, LS-B panel bracket (I-type or full frame) and, for 12.8 V batteries, a pole-top box or a buried box — NM 06.8.001 §5.4 allows the battery at the pole base, in the foundation or in the luminaire. Retrofit head for an existing pole: fixing matched to the pole in place and companion panel on its bracket. What we do not deliver by default is the pole: the pole is Moroccan-made (25 % safeguard duty on imported poles, HS 7308.90.10); the customs classification of the luminaire is confirmed by our customs broker. On request, LALOGO supplies the LS-P6 pole, safeguard duty included in the quotation.
