Solar street lights, floodlights and off-grid lighting for Morocco

Solar Public Lighting Solutions by Sector, Morocco

Communes and douars, residential estates, farms, industrial zones, hotels and the Casablanca-Settat SDAL: how a solar lighting project is sized, documented and procured in Morocco.

Solar public lighting in Morocco is sized on the month of December (2.58 kWh/m²/day in Tanger, 2.99 in Casablanca, 3.46 in Marrakech, 3.97 in Laâyoune — PVGIS-SARAH2 2005-2020, JRC), on an NM EN 13201 lighting class and on an autonomy expressed in Wh, not in marketing watts. LALOGO publishes here, sector by sector, the method we apply to every quotation: who buys, how the class, pole height and spacing are chosen, which LS models fit, which documents go into the tender specification and how the purchase runs — a call for tenders on marchespublics.gov.ma for a commune, a developer or residents' association for an estate, the operator for a farm.

Here we use the vocabulary of tender notices — 'solar public lighting', 'supply and installation of solar street lights', 'solar luminaires', 'solar kits', and on marchespublics.gov.ma the French originals 'éclairage public solaire' and 'candélabre solaire' — so that each sector finds on these pages the terms of its own specification.

Two rules apply to every sector. The pole is Moroccan-made (25 % safeguard duty on imported poles, HS 7308.90.10); the customs classification of the luminaire is confirmed by our forwarder. And the stated autonomy is always 'up to 12 h per night, 3–5 days of reserve at the default profile', because it depends on irradiation (sized on December) and on the dimming profile.

Six sectors, six ways to buy

Each page details the sizing, the LALOGO models that fit, the documents and a worked example.

How does a project run with LALOGO?

Four steps, from the first WhatsApp question to commissioning.

1. Audit or site visit

Drawings, photos or a site visit: road length, width, obstacles, shading, distance to the sea, existing poles. We record what decides the class and the layout.

2. Sizing

Indicative NM EN 13201 class, pole height and spacing per model, Wh budget on your city's December irradiation, dimming profile, 3–5 days of reserve.

3. Offer and documents

Quote in MAD within 24 h, FR/AR/EN datasheets, IES/LDT on request, Cم declaration, LS-P6 pole drawings for your Moroccan fabricator, wording ready to paste into the specification.

4. Delivery and commissioning

Delivery to all 12 regions, incoming inspection, profile set-up (IR remote), training of the municipal team or caretaker, spare batteries available.
