Solar street lights, floodlights and off-grid lighting for Morocco

Solar street light for farm tracks, sheds, livestock and pumping stations in Morocco

100–200 W IP66 floodlights, 60 Wp street lights for tracks, insect-killer lamp and 4G camera: farm lighting without a grid connection.

A solar street light for a farm in Morocco is one of four building blocks: an LS-F200 solar floodlight (200 W nominal LED, IP66, 12–16 h autonomy, remote, dusk sensor and timer) per shed or barn façade, an LS-A60 street light (≈ 6,000 lm, 60 Wp, LiFePO4 192 Wh) every 15–20 m on the access track, an LS-C100 street light with 4G camera (100 W, dual 4 MP camera, Moroccan SIM) at the gate or the pumping station, and an LS-M solar insect-killer lamp near the animals. No grid connection, no trench across cultivated plots.

Who buys solar lighting for a farm?

Usually the operator: greenhouse growers in Chtouka-Aït Baha and the Souss, citrus growers in the Gharb and the Haouz, livestock farmers in the Tadla, the Chaouia and the Oriental, olive estates in the Saïss, packing units and cooperatives. What they share is a site far from the utility substation, where connecting a pumping station or an isolated shed costs cable, a transformer and months of delay, and where the low-voltage domestic and private-lighting tariff rises to 1.5958 MAD/kWh incl. tax (ONEE, 2026) for concentrated night-time use.

The needs are concrete: loading lorries at 4 am in harvest season, watching a gate two kilometres from the house, lighting an irrigation basin or a sheepfold without drawing insects into the buildings, protecting a pumping station against cable and pump theft. Each of these needs maps to a LALOGO model, not to a bazaar '500 W floodlight' whose 154 Wh battery goes dark at 10 pm.

How is farm solar lighting sized?

Here we reason by use, not by road class. A 40 × 20 m shed yard needs two to four LS-F200 floodlights fixed at 6–8 m on the façade or on a Moroccan-made pole, aimed crosswise; a loading dock, one LS-F100 (100 W, IP66) per door. The 5–6 m wide access track is treated like a douar street: LS-A60 on a 4–6 m pole every 15–20 m; in the mountains or the north, the LS-S60 tilted-panel kit harvests +62 to +68 % more energy in December than a horizontal panel (PVGIS). A sheepfold or cowshed takes one LS-W50 wall light (50 W, IP65) per door, in 3000 K so as not to disturb the animals.

Autonomy is computed on December: 3.62 kWh/m²/day in Agadir, 3.46 in Marrakech, 2.97 in Fès, 2.85 in Rabat (PVGIS-SARAH2 2005-2020, JRC), with a system efficiency of 0.70–0.75 (engineering assumption). An LS-A60 in Agadir harvests 60 × 3.62 × 0.72 ≈ 156 Wh a day for a 192 Wh battery. On the floodlights, the remote sets the schedule (for example 7–11 pm then 4–6 am) and the dusk sensor prevents any useless switch-on: that setting, more than raw power, is what makes a long-autonomy solar light. Two field constraints: Chergui dust, which requires cleaning the panels after each episode, and inland summer heat (37–39 °C mean daily maximum in Marrakech, Fès and Ouarzazate), which argues for a separate panel and a pole-base battery on the larger kits.

The LS-C100's 4G camera runs on a Moroccan SIM; 87.7 % of mobile connections in Morocco are broadband (DataReportal 2026), but we check coverage on site before specifying this model.

Which documents and which rules?

A farm has no tender specification, but it has an accountant and sometimes a grant file: LALOGO supplies a FR/AR/EN datasheet per model, an invoice in MAD itemising luminaires, LS-B brackets and poles, and the declaration of conformity for the Cم marking (Law 24-09, Orders 2573-14 and 2574-14) required for any luminaire placed on the Moroccan market. Floodlights fall under the NM EN 60598-2-5 family and wall lights under NM EN 60598-2-4. If the project is part of a support programme, these documents serve as evidence; we take no position on eligibility, which depends on the agency.

The track poles are Moroccan-made (25 % safeguard duty on imported poles, HS 7308.90.10); the customs classification of the luminaire is confirmed by our forwarder. On a farm, a 5 m pole is often advantageously replaced by an existing post or a bracket on a building, which we check during the audit.

How does the purchase run?

A WhatsApp message with the farm plan or three photos is enough for a first quotation within 24 h. We then confirm on site or by video the southern orientation of the panels, shading from sheds and windbreaks, 4G coverage for the LS-C100 and the fixing points for the floodlights. Delivery to the farm in all 12 regions, installation by the farm's electrician or a partner installer, commissioning and timer settings with the manager using the remote. Spare LiFePO4 batteries and brackets available to extend the installation the following season.

Worked example: a 40 ha farm in Chtouka-Aït Baha

40 × 20 m packing shed, 800 m access track, pumping station 1.5 km away, sheepfold of 60 head, gate on the provincial road. Configuration: 4 LS-F200 crosswise on the shed façade at 7 m, 2 LS-F100 at the loading dock, 41 LS-A60 on Moroccan-made 5 m poles every 20 m along the track (800 ÷ 20 = 40 intervals), 1 LS-C100 on a 6 m pole at the pumping station and 1 at the gate, 2 LS-W50 wall lights at the sheepfold and 3 LS-M lamps around the pen.

December balance in Agadir (3.62 kWh/m²/day): each LS-A60 harvests 60 × 3.62 × 0.72 ≈ 156 Wh a day for a 192 Wh battery, with 3–5 days of reserve at the default profile; the LS-F200 units are set to two time windows (7–11 pm, 4–6 am) with the remote for harvest loading. No trench across the plots, no cable to steal between the shed and the station. Price on quotation in MAD.

Frequently asked questions

Which solar floodlight for a farm shed?

The LS-F200: 200 W nominal LED, IP66, 12–16 h autonomy, remote, dusk sensor and timer. Two to four units crosswise at 6–8 m cover a 40 × 20 m yard; one LS-F100 (100 W) is enough per door or dock. For a notice or quote asking for '500 W', two LS-F200 twinned on the same bracket.

Can switch-on be scheduled for 4 am harvest work?

Yes. The LS-F100 and LS-F200 floodlights have a remote with timer and a dusk sensor; the LS-A street lights have a programmable time and dimming profile through the MPPT controller. You set, for example, 7–11 pm then 4–6 am, and the PIR raises the flux on movement. Autonomy remains 'up to 12 h per night' depending on irradiation and profile.

Does the 4G camera work without wifi or mains power?

Yes. The LS-C100 combines a 100 W solar street light with a dual 4 MP 4G camera powered by its own battery (12–16 h lighting autonomy) and connected through a Moroccan SIM. It suits gates, pumping stations and isolated sheds; we check 4G coverage on site before specifying it.

How do the lights cope with Chergui dust and summer heat?

IP65 housing (IP66 on floodlights), panel rinsed with clean water after each sand-wind episode, −20 °C to +65 °C operating range. In hot inland zones (Marrakech, Tadla, Saïss) we prefer the LS-S60 split kit for tracks, whose 12.8 V battery sits in a shaded box at the pole base.

Is the solar insect-killer lamp useful for livestock?

The LS-M is a self-contained IP65 solar insect lamp for spikes or posts around pens, sheepfolds, orchards and house surroundings. It attracts and traps flying insects away from lit buildings. Number of units and spacing depend on the area, on quotation; effectiveness per species is not guaranteed.
