Overview

The LS-M is a solar insect-killer lamp: an IP65 flying-insect trap powered by its own solar panel, which attracts insects with a light source and neutralises them on a grid, with no cable, no socket and no connection. It is made for farms, sheepfolds and cowsheds, pumping stations, and the gardens, terraces and pool surrounds of hotels in Morocco. Coverage area, output, battery capacity and autonomy are stated on request for the chosen configuration; 1-piece sample, lots from 20 pieces.

The principle is simple: the lamp charges by day and runs at night, when mosquitoes and nocturnal insects are active; the panel is sized for December irradiation (2.99 kWh/m²/day in Casablanca, 3.46 in Marrakech, 3.62 in Agadir — PVGIS-SARAH2 2005-2020, JRC), with 2,900–3,500 sunshine hours a year depending on the city. Autonomy depends on irradiation and on the operating profile. The LS-M is not a lighting luminaire: on a farm it complements an LS-F100 floodlight or an LS-A60 solar street light, it does not replace them.

Where should a solar insect-killer lamp be installed on a farm or at a hotel?

An insect-killer lamp attracts before it neutralises: it therefore sits away from people and animals, between the breeding site (irrigation pond, drinking trough, slurry pit, wadi bank) and the place to protect (cowshed, poultry house, terrace, bungalow), and never above a restaurant table. On a farm, one lamp per wet area and one per livestock building is the starting point; at a hotel, a ring around the terrace and the pool, a few metres from the tables. The exact number depends on the coverage area of the chosen configuration, which we state in the quotation. Maintenance: empty the tray, brush the grid and clean the panel after a dust episode (chergui); check the battery after an inland summer (mean daily maximum 37–38 °C in Marrakech in July–August). Operation is nocturnal and automatic.

Compliance, customs and delivery

The safety reference for insect killers is IEC 60335-2-59; ingress protection is assessed under IEC 60529 (IP65). Test reports and compliance documentation are supplied on request with the FR/EN datasheet. The LS-M is not an urban lighting luminaire: its customs classification is confirmed by our customs broker before shipment, and we claim no exemption from the 27 % anti-dumping duty (HS 9405.42.00.10) until the classification is established. With no pole, the 25 % safeguard duty on imported poles (HS 7308.90.10) does not apply.
